Benny, could you check the script of forum websites? I cannot enter many topics, because my AVG antivir screams about malware in "sidebars" and "comechat".

AVG is far too protective of things it doesn't understand, but I wasn't aware it scanned websites that don't download files for you. Could you go to the cometchat site, and see if it gives you the same error? I'm really not sure how I could possibly check this without seeing the error myself.
If I had to guess, I'd say that because it's a complex system that requests use of webcams and the like for chatting, that could be perceived as malicious. Hopefully you get the same error on other sites running cometchat to confirm this.

Hey benny been a member for a long time and never had a problem before, but now my computer is freaking out on the forum to. But its only sending me warnings in the "ask benny" section.
Had to type this on my phone because my computer wouldn't work in the "ask benny" section

It 's strange because it happens mainly on Ask Benny section. I turned off the function which caused problems to answer here (I read the forum via viewsource
) and the AVG screamed about the Trojan here.

Trying to figure out what the hell the problem is… you may see some plugins disabled (like the chat feature, but that isn't it). As a precaution, I've updated absolutely everything (usually Wordpress updates are security updates) and changed all passwords on my site for admin log-in, in case it had been compromised. When I have it fixed, I'll let you know what the problem was…
Currently testing by disabling one plugin at a time to see if that helps.

My AVG gets crazy about cometchat/cometchat_receive.php and wp-admin/admin-ajax.php. Could I disable chat from my side?

Yes. AVG says about Phoenix Exploit Kit (769). I could only answer now because I disabled the Link Scanner. It doesn't appear until I open this thread or any other in Ask Benny section. I could surf through all other topics. It appeared in IE, Firefox, Opera and Chrome, even after clearing the browser caches. After I enter this topic and a box about malware pops up I get the same pop-up on main forum site. Now there is another pop-up requiring me to agree, because it requires the old Java version. After I did it, something installed on my laptop and AVG reacted with disabling the process and removing something (names of those files doesn't appear in the Google!) I had to restart to finish. So this is not just precaution of the oversensitive antivir, but some malware lurks somewhere here behind some link.

It looks like some parts of posts got converted to "?�?�" in posts of the Ask Benny section like this, but apart from this everything looks fine. Thanks for taking the effort to restore everything and letting us know. And kudos to Randybvain for discovering the issue and reporting it so it eventually got fixed.

Thanks everyone! I'll see if I can fix that strange character issue that came about me forcing the old forum back in. Otherwise glad we could solve this! It's been taking a lot of time out of my Mandarin mission, so I'm glad to have it behind me!
