Hello guys and gals,

I am a complete beginner to the Russian language (literally know nothing at all) and want to learn. I am interested in the

language because of my family history and pursuit of a future career. If anyone would like to help me achieve my goal of

learning a decent amount of Russian in a year, message me :) !

Well I am in a program at my University designed to give students a jump start on a career in foreign relations. The problem is the course requires 2 years of foreign language or a decent grasp of the language to be able to get the certification, but I am set to graduate in a year. So rather than taking classes at school, I am planning to learn the language on my own. The reason I am so far behind is because the program was just started at my school for the summer semester, and I have no foreign language classes thus far cry.

The requirement is that I have to know the language on a Department of State proficiency code – 2 which is

Speaking: Able to satisfy routine social demands and limited work requirements

Reading: Able to read simple prose, in a form equivalent to typescript or printing, on subjects within a familiar context

That being said, I would like to have full professional proficiency at some point, I am just not sure on my time frame if I will be able to achieve that before I graduate.
