Fantastic thread with really helpful information.  I've been wondering about the same things for me as an English speaker learning my various languages.

Rhythm:  In Finnish it's like triplets instead of English which sounds like a pick up note into galloping.

Pronouncing an end of syllable H.  Common in Finnish, but not done in English.

Accurately pronouncing vowel harmony.  It's easy to be sloppy with it because that's not a feature of English, either.

Pronouncing double letters distinctly.

There are other things, and I want to suggest using the locative cases correctly as well as other cases like partitive.  But for starters, I'll go with the pronunciation ticks above.  I can't think of word order ticks.

melski44 – I don't know if you're still around on this board.

I've been wondering… when native English-speakers speak French and mess up the genders, or sometimes mess up gender agreement, and the à le/au thing, etc., what do you think?  Do you still find them easy to understand?  How crucial are these things?  (I mean, obviously someone who intends to become fluent in French should work to eliminate them but in most cases do these mistakes really interfere with you understanding me, or are they just errors but you'll still know what I am trying to say?)  And what if I say something like <<la blanche maison petite>> or <<le grand homme>> instead of <<la petite maison blanche>>, and <<l'homme grand>>?

I have some difficulties in French gender, since it has so many words that are similar and mean the same as in Portuguese but have a different gender, like the female Portuguese noun árvore and the male French noun arbor, or the feminine Portuguese suffix -agem and the male French suffix -age, I believe this is a common mistake.

English speakers do usually have a problem with articles in Dutch. When to use ''het'' and ''de''.

The upside is that the Dutch with an English accent is quite lovely.
