OfflineI am very exited because I am finally taking the step to realize my dreams. I will travel the world to learn languages, visit places and also do other things. However, I have questions that might be the same in some other people mind.
I just turned 35 years old. I am single now, I have a good revenue from my internet projects and I am eager to travel the world. I just sublet my apartment to a friend where we made a special deal. I didn't want to leave without having a base just in case I wish to return and I am stuck with no place to stay. This is more for the spycological side
Anyhow, I am 35 years. Am I too old to travel the world? I read on Benny's blog that the ages is only a number and it shouldn't be a problem. I do not want to travel for ever. I just turned 35 years and I was thinking. If you do not do it now. You will never do it. I actually dream of traveling for the past 3 years. My ex girlfriend she was against it. This was very difficult when you have dreams and you cannot do them. I am over it now. It has been 3 months and I am single and happy

I am going to London for 1 month to visit friends. I want to go to a lot of Meetups (meetup.com), couchsurfying etc.. It is a mini mission. Enjoy London and meet people. Then I am going to Paris for 10 days or so. I am having hard time, getting out of my security zone, where I could travel and live in new places. I want to go to Brazil, Colombia, eastern european countries and Asia… so many travel plans

I want to lean 3 more languages my goals. I am already fluent in French, Spanish and English. I am actually going to take an accent training class in London. i thought it was fun to give it a try. Get rid of my strong french accent heheehe!!!
I feel young and I like to do things young people do…going to clubs and so on…
Therefore I have some younger and older friends and when young people ask me about my age. They say I am too old. Why am I not married? and so on… What would you reply to them? lie about my age? when people see me. They think I am around 25/28 years old. Even last week, it was funny, a girl asked me if I was erasmus (program for young student doing university exchange in Europe between 18 to 25 years old).
am I crazy to travel at 35 years old? Is this inresponsible?
What i know for sure is that I have to do it now but I might encounter more difficulties ?

In my opinion, anyone can do whatever they want at whatever age. I saw many people who are 50+ years old and still doing things young people do. If you still doubt it, then give it a try. You'll lose nothing.
+1, you see people twice your age still travelling and enjoying all the time they have on this earth! Happiness does not have a cut-off point, if travelling will make you happy, go travelling! Just don't let anybody think it's irresponsible for you to live your life the way you want to.

OfflineYep, sorry, the cutoff age is 34 years and 6 months. You just missed it.
But seriously, though, if you've ever browsed around on CouchSurfers, there are plenty of people in every age range on there, so if you feel more comfortable around people closer to your age, you'll have no problem finding them.

OfflineDude, seriously, hehehe, you are embarking on an around the world trip. You are 35 and you say people think you are 25!!!!!!!
There ins't really much more you can ask. I'm 31 and I look 37, 38, I can't even go to some places or else the kids will think I'm some old wreck who got loose out of a mental institution hahaha.
Whoever says you're too old tell them they're too young hahahaha, fuck them man.
You know those square water melons they sell in Japan? They are like that because they live inside square boxes their entire life. We all know watermelons are round, but Japanese want them square.
That's the same with life.
You are supposed to live in a square box and be square (born, teenager, get married, have kids, buy a house and a car, maybe house on the beach). I say that's bullshit. There's no model. Anyone can live whatever life they wish as long as it doesn't hurt others.

I think that I will still be young at my 40 but how you are seen by other in society, it is difficult.
A friend of mine, she's a girl. She told me that everyone lie. So If I say I am 28 instead of 35..
It is easy. I am single now. So might be a problem if I meet a nice girl and lie to her…ooops

OfflineThere's another option:
Don't minding about numbers and satying young at heart, always. Wear sunscreen!

OfflineIf you can afford it, go for it man! Even if you can't really afford it, consider going for it anyway, haha. We only have one life to live.
One caveat: I don't see why it would ever be right or necessary to lie about your age. What could you possibly gain from that?
As a 20-year-old woman, I wouldn't necessarily mind being friends with a 35-year-old. I would mind being friends with someone who was lying to me. Misrepresenting yourself in any way, making friendships on false premises, etc. is a surefire way to kill any interest someone might have in you.
