OfflineThis is probably mainly for Benny, but perhaps it is of wider interest.
I tried out the email list manager that Benny uses, Aweber, and it is quite nice.
However…
it's useless for email recipients who don't read English. And even if they do, the lack of support for even getting an address that isn't in the US really makes it unsuitable for my needs.
Pity, because I was really starting to like all the features they have.
Anyway, can anyone recommend another product, of Aweber's caliber, but that serves an international community?

OfflineMailchimp is Aweber's main competitor.
Not sure what you mean by the English issues as you can edit all of your confirmation e-mails and could translate them to any language you like. Also, I used an address in Ireland (nothing I do is tied to America) so I don't know what you mean by the US need.
If you signed up already, try to open up a support ticket to fix any issues you are having as they are usually very responsive.
Aweber is essential for me as I'm dealing with very big numbers, but for a mailing list of a few dozen I found Google Groups to be an excellent free alternative, and I remember being able to make the sign up procedure in different languages as I used it previously to syndicate updates of my videos in various languages.

OfflineI'll look at Mailchimp. Thanks!
I also got a message from GetResponse, another main competitor and they said they support a half dozen or so languages.
I think AWeber has very good support. I think the thoroughness which they devote to helping their clients get their emails delivered, and not marked as spam is great. I just didn't like it when simple things like how they add this on to the bottom of your email:
"To unsubscribe or change subscriber options visit:"
and you can't change this text (d.h. nicht auf deutsch ou en français ή στα ελληνικά zum Beispiel )
I talked to AWeber tech support to confirm this.
I am quite sure as I investigate their software, there will be quite a few other places which are English Only. I know that some of the emails I sent have their content truncated after it sees the first non English character and their tech support did specifically mention they do not officially support characters besides English.
Such a good company, but this….Aarrgh! Despite their being probably 60 million bilinguals in America, we Americans can be quite stupid about the relevance of other languages.
Anyway, thanks for the lead. I'll check them out.
