Bonjour!

I am currently learning french and have just started. I speak very little french (ie. words) but I'm hoping that I'll be able to learn basic conversation french by June 2012.

I'm currently using the rosetta stone software and looking to get some penpals/skype friends to help me along the way!

If you can help me out, I would appreciate it! My boyfriend speaks more french than me and it'd be nice to understand him :P

Bonjour!

It's going well I think! I've learned the basics (femme, garcon, homme & fille) as well as numbers (un deux trois quatre cinq six sept huit neuf dix) and slowly learning the days of the week (Lundi, Mecredi….)

My boyfriend and I are beginning to point out things in french to each other which is helping but I'm struggling with the french accent.

Does anyone know where I can brush up on accent? It's sounding very "bogan" french at the moment.

For accent take a look at the free FSI French Phonology course at

http://fsi-language-courses.org

The 'French Basic' course is good too, free, and with many drills.

By the way, days of the week are not capitalized in French like they are in English (nor are language names).

(lundi, mardi, mercredi..)

Good luck…

Good to hear your mission is gaining momentum.

Here are two resources I highly recommend:

Speaks:  German English French Portuguese Russian       Focusing on:  Russian       Abandoned: Spanish Latin
