I've taken 3 semester (or 1 year) of French and while I was looking over the DELF A1, I noticed my teacher never prepared up for it. I cannot speak conversationally and my grammar and sentence structure is shoddy. So, while I have just one class left in French to gain my associates, I couldn't speak it to save my life.

I plan on taking a small grammar class at the French Alliance this fall, Finish my "intermediate" French class in the Spring and then all Summer and part of Fall devote to tutoring and taking the A1 & A2; preferably I'll take the exam in October.

That's not necessarily pushing it since the French Alliance believes I should be in the A2/B1 realm already. I also have to work on an accelerated math class, completing my associates, getting my GED and moving to another state. But with the 32 hours of driving time, I'm pretty sure I can fit it in.

So far i'm looking at a few study materials:

Assimil French books 1 & 2

"Preparation A L'Examen Du DELF" A2 w/audio

Currently:

I'm working myway though duolingo and I'm going to start recording every few days. This winter is when i'll start my grammar class at the french alliance. Intermediate grammar intensive course in the spring. Then its goodbye college french classes, and i'll be relying strictly on tutors, books and occasionsl practice in french club and across the border in Canada.

After the A2, I would love to take the DELF B1 in February 2014. Do you think it's possible to take the B1 after only 4 months?

I wish I could make this a lot closer, I'd love to get the A2 out of the way this December, but i'm stuck taking more than full time classes at college this year (full time = 12hr, mine = 15), plus sports and a job as Recording Officer for Phi Theta Kappa :( .

"French Alliance" is burning my eyes!

Alliance Française, s'il vous plait.  :-)

In any case, I think this is very, very doable, especially because you already know the underlying information… you just have to put it into action!

Lol, sorry about that I translated it out of habit. I translated around 100 french sentences yesterday on duolingo and it get's to you after awhile. :)

What I do every other day:

Duolingo lesson (1 to 4)

Duolingo Translations (1 to 2 wikipedia articles)

*Any words I don't recognize I add to Anki from the lessons.

Also working on an outline of points I need to study. Will be marking the pages in my Allons-Y textbook in a week or two. Then, I'll be reviewing the textbook vocabulary with Anki and hopefully writing sentences and paragraphs to be edited on the off days. Going to attempt to do that this week while studying for my CLEP exam in Western Civ. II.

Can't believe it's already been a week! So, I did duolingo until tuesday of last week and then had to stop to attend a funeral. Barely got any anki flashcards done -_- it wasn't a good week that's for sure. This week will be better. …

It's been two month's since I've posted (College is in session). This winter I start an in depth French language learning mission all December. Since I don't have any time to study right now, I've decided to use Radium internet radio and listen to french radio broadcasts while I study. With some luck it will upgrade my translation/listening skills!
