I'm now learning French. Despite several false starts, this is the real deal :)

I've RSSd some good language blogs (Fi3M included, of course!), signed up on LiveMocha (je suis 'funky.homme'), and stated my mission on my blog (public accountability! :P )

After reading through and seeing the progress in some of the language mission threads here, I intend to keep this one up to date. Seems like a great idea!

Looking forward to hopefully talking to some of you soon.

Until then :)

Good luck, but if I were you, I'd be more specific about "conversational level". As that is fairly vague. And, I'd love to know what interests you about the language.

Also your link on "on my blog" is broken, I imagine it was supposed to be "http://pseudomantic.wordpress.com/2012/06/15/im-learning-french/" because right now it's "http://www.fluentin3months.com/pseudomantic.wordpress.com/2012/06/15/im-learning-french/%22"

I would love to help people with English, or to be helped with Russian. PM me for my Skype.

Thanks for the note Keith. By conversational level I mean being able to speak French well enough to potentially live in Quebec for a few months without the language barrier being an issue. The exact definition is vague at the moment but I'll refine it as my learning progresses and didn't want to let it get in the way of starting. Thanks also for noticing the broken blog link; I'm not sure how to edit it so here's the correct link!

Progress:

Slight blip – Started a new job and moved house since my last post so the lessons have taken a bit of a hit, but I've been listening to French audio and trying to learn vocab while the commotion settles down.
