Quest
a) main :Tamil at conversational level before December
Time given: 6 months (June – November)

b) additional : Improve my French especially listening skill.

c) Future:

    1. Hindi (UNLOCK QUEST BY COMPLETING MAIN QUEST)

    2. Arabic (UNLOCK QUEST BY COMPLETING MAIN QUEST)

Here're the reasons of why I want to learn these languages
Tamil

I'm so stupid no to learn Tamil but my friend (Chinese) will probably think I'm stupid if I tell them I'm learning Tamil. There're lots of Tamil speakers in this country (Malaysia), more than a hundred of them in my school and 2 in my class. I have two good friend who speaks Tamil. Resources are also easy to get. I can simply buy Tamil dictionary in most bookshop and perhaps a grammar book from larger bookshops.

Hindi
I felt interested in Hindi after watching the film '3 idiots' and one of my indian friend are learning it so maybe I'll learn it after Tamil.

Arabic
I live in an Islamic country so it's too easy to 'meet' some Arabic words and the resources are more than enough. I found my interest in Arabic when I learn the chapters about Islamic histories in my 'History Textbook'. Futhermore, there're a lot
of  Malay(official language in Malaysia) word driven from Arabic.

Any learners of natives of these languages???

I'm very sad to put aside other European languages especially Northern languages but I have no choice because resources are hard to get.

Update :

I can't do anything for another 2 weeks because I'm having my examcry. After the test, I'll use my given2 weeks mid-year holidays to search for resources and learn some basics of Tamil. When the school holiday ended (June), I'll start my learning.

I'm very happy to find out that there're 3 Tamil channels in ASTRO (a Malaysian company which sells channels by packages.Monthly payment). I think I also came across 1 Hindi channel and 1 Arabic channel.laugh

Like I said, I'm terrible at keeping myself on trackyell

I read Benny's post and realise I should have be more specific in my goal and only concentrate on 1 language in a time.

So, I decided to go with Tamil first since it's easier with my friends helping:)

okay…

My current knowledge in Tamil.

-finished basic alphabets only.

-know how to say 3 little phrase 'Hello' 'Shut up' and 'Fat pig' laugh

MY MISSION

- be able to hold conversation with my Tamil friend at school for a day.

Here's what I'm gonna do first.

-finish those irregular alphabet combinations and learn some useful phrases in 3 days

checked on me and make sure I don't change my purpose again, will youwink

I'll report after 3 days.
