Mission: Conversational italian by end of summer | My language mission and my log | Forum

Hi! My name is Jason, and i have been practicing my Italian for about 2 weeks. I hope to be able to have a conversation in Italian by the end of summer. The reason i chose Italian is because i am half Italian (and half Chinese) and i want to be able to talk to my cousins in Italy. Italian culture interests me a lot, and i know Spanish to a degree (from school), so hopefully its a little easier for me to learn Italian. Maybe one day i will learn mandarin or cantonese, but as pretty much the whole Chinese side of my family speaks english too, there is not as much motivation for me to learn Chinese now.

This mission holds a spot in me because i have never been able to communicate with my cousins (if i pick up the phone its usually a 5 second conversation of me saying "Ciao" and "Un momento" when they ask for my mom or someone that can communicate to them in italian lol). Ive been slacking off though lately, so hopefully i can get out of the slump im in now.
