Figured it was about time that I set myself a proper challenge to make myself improve my German.  I'm going to sign up for the CEFRL B2 exam.  Want to do it probably in October, still haven't set a date yet as I'm still in the process of finding out when the tests are available to sit (if anyone in Scotland knows anything about this please let me know).  Also if anybody has any tips for doing CEFRL exams at all let me know, I have read this:
http://www.nononsensegerman.com/how-i-passed-the-goethe-institut-c1-exam/
which seems helpful, and I just bought 'MIT Erfolg Zum Goethe-Zertifikat: Ubungsbuch B2 MIT CD' by Andrea Frater which should hopefully help me.

And if anyone is on Google+ add me as I could really use the speaking practise:

Thanks.

Glad to hear you've set yourself a bar. I've always liked exams, though mine have always been more maths-based than language based. I'd like to hear if you think the exam itself helps you at all, or just works as a motivation. I don't know anything about German, but I can imagine that studying a language knowing there is a test may increase your stress and frustration slightly, so I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  I just finished my engineering degree two weeks ago, so I'm much the same in terms of maths-based exams.  I think this should be good for me though.  I'm curious as to whether the exam itself will help or not, currently I don't really have any idea, but I'm sure it will provide enough motivation for it to be worthwhile regardless.  I'll try to update (probably infrequently) this mission log every now and again just to let people see how I'm getting on.
