OfflineI am learning Turkish and would like to be able to view English language videos with Turkish subtitles/Turkish language videos with English subtitles. Ideally, I would like to do this on an iPad but don't really know where to start. I have tried to do this with YouTube videos which apparently come with subtitles but unfortunately the subtitles don't show.
Does anyone have experience of this or could they direct me to any helpful resources?
Additionally, if I have, say, a commercial English language video that does not already come with Turkish subtitles, is there an internet source available for Turkish subtitles which could be attached to the video?
As you can see, I don't know much about thus topic and would be grateful for any assistance.

Offline1) Download Direct VOBsub for free. It will automatically synch your subtitle files with your movie files.
2) Find Turkish subtitles for the movie you want by googling "turkish [name of movie] srt" (*.srt is the file extension used most often for subtitles)
3) Make sure you save the .srt file in the same folder where your movie (probably *.avi) is. Furthermore, make sure the movie and the subtitles have the SAME FILE NAME before the .avi or .srt part. If you put them in the same file and give them the same name, the subtitles should show automatically next time you play the movie.

OfflineI came across this site which provides subtitled videos, in the case of Turkish dealing partly with 'soap' type Turkish TV programs- of which there seem to be very many! I am particularly interested in this because they feature conversation using modern colloquial Turkish. They also feature movies with subtitles.
I have not studied the site in great detail yet but it seems as though it's well worth a look.
This is the relevant link-

They say-
We work directly with broadcasters and producers from around the world, connecting them to a massive number of new and loving fans.
You can get "Fatmagül'ün suçu ne?" with fan translated English subtitles from here: http://www.whatisfatmagulsfault.com
It works both with vlc or similar, and in some (not all) cases youtube.
(I am currently trying to find Turkish ones, but no luck so far).
