OfflineHello there!
I am currently struggling with the beautiful language that is french, and mostly with the part regarding listening comprehension. Thus, I am in grave need of exercise material and such. I cannot seem to find good one myself so I'm asking if any of you guys have something.
I'm at lower intermediate level, but I'll take anything that would be worthwhile! ![]()

OfflineThere are two sites specially designed for learners like you who would like to improve their listening comprehension:
http://www.listentofrench.org/
http://www.sonsenfrancais.org/
I also recommend browsing through the incredible wealth of resources available at ielanguages.com, especially the following section (since most other courses and materials focus merely on formal French, informal French can be particularly tricky to understand):
http://ielanguages.com/frenchslang.html
You might also consider the following French media websites:
http://www.rfi.fr/lffr/statiques/accueil_apprendre.asp
http://www.tv5.org/TV5Site/enseigner-apprendre-francais/accueil_apprendre.php
http://www.arte.tv/fr (as far as I recall, they should have lots of videos with subtitles)

OfflineThanks a ton! That really was more than I could ask for. Now let's sharpen up those hearing skills!
I found the site with the slang to be particularly helpful. It's near impossible to understand what real people actually are saying when you throw yourself out on the streets with your taught-at-school french as the only means of communication… The french really know how to tie sentances together to damn near incomprehensible blur.
Again, thanks a lot!

Speaking of slang, I made a French pen pal, and while she wrote careful, correct French in her emails, when I went to her Facebook page, I hardly recognized a word! Another thing you can do is subscribe to TV5 via your cable provider. French programming from around the world (and the movies are subtitled). Good stuff.
