Offlinehey guys
While watching youtube vlogs from Mexico, I have heard many bloggers say " bueno..este..este.." and then start talking. "este" means "this" . I guess they are doing this to give themselves time to think, but why use the word este?
Also, is this just mexican?
Thanks

OfflineYes, "este" (in that context) is just a filler word (muletilla) just like "ummmm…eeeer" (notice that it's the same with "bueno")
I don't know where exactly it's used, but I don't think it's just a Mexican thing. An Argentinean friend of mine says it too. In Spain we don't use it, we use "esto" instead.
