My system isn’t quite for those in 8th grade! I write the guide for adults who have the flexibility to actually meet up with people or speak a lot online. Best to invest somewhere else – I’d recommend a live in au pair for example.

Tu m'as vraiment impressionné, tu sais parlais plus de 5langues, couramment!

moi à peine si je sais dire 2-3 mots d'anglais.

En faite si je suis ici c'est grâce à ta video que tu as tournés à rome je m' interesse à l'italien et je dois l'apprendre rapidement car d'ici 1 année je m'en vais là bas
Je voulais m'inscrire à des cours d'italien en septembre prochain, mais tu as dit étudier une langue ne servait à rien je ne sais plus vraiment quoi faire

There are a lot of similarities between the different romance languages, but I wouldn't say that they are all basically the same. They are all different enough and learning each language still takes a lot of effort and energy.

p.s. Rosetta Stone certainly does not automatically make you fluent in a language. Far from it. Trust me, I've tried it.

Hi Pdee – I'll update the site whenever I can with testimonials from people like Christopher who have bought the book, and who have nothing to gain from it being up, but are still (clearly) very happy to share their enthusiasm for it.

I might go for “old-fashioned” publication in a year or two, but releasing it online first is the best precursor so that I can gain a reputation and have sales figures to impress publishers with.

You will see many other reviews – for example, one non-affiliate frank and honest review is here (but it's in German) and I'm sure more will appear soon (give it time, the guide has only been out for 2 days )

I respect Erin from neverendingvoyage. She writes on lonely planet forums to share many of her posts. She is also very serious about learning Spanish and is applying my advice intensively so I think her review definitely counts for something.

You're welcome to wait and see testimonials from readers and wait for other reviews (both affiliate and non-affiliate) to appear. You are also welcome to write your own review after reading it

Sounds like a recommendation, but I have to ask, are you going to be selling it? I say this - cynically - because in looking for reviews of the book I have, so far, come across just two: 1 by neverendingjourney who seem to be marketing all over lonelyplanet.com and 2languagehacking.org wad still in the pre-release mode! i.e let me tell you about this amazing book (I've not yet read).
This is a problem with affiliate marketing I guess.Benny, why not get it published in the old-fashioned style if its good? (Do you think you could 'get it published'?) Or if you insist on affiliate marketing, why not give it to some people you respect to review/critique?

This is basically phony. You knew English and Irish from growing up in Ireland. Then you learned all of the Romance languages together (once you know one, it's very very easy to learn the other; once you know two, it's a piece of cake to learn the rest). And does Esperanto even count? Come on. I thought you spoke more than just Romance languages (Germanic, Sanskrit, Russian, Oriental).

Maybe you did sit down with your Rosetta Stone and learn all Romance languages over summer vacation but don't tout yourself as a polyglot just yet.
