Every time I see a movie about aliens who speak another language (it irritates me when movies presume aliens would all just know English!), I always am like "Oh my god I want to be an interpreter for them!" haha<br><br>When I saw District 9, I was so into it. I know I'm such a geek. But really, if there was some kind of politically-driven inhumane treatment of aliens on earth, wouldn't it be awesome to be an advocate for them by being their interpreter?! <br><br>Anyway, enough fiction. I've seen Avatar twice since it came out (once in French while I was in France over Christmas and once in English when I got back to the states) and I have to say, one of my favorite parts was listening to the actors speak Na'vi! I recognized a lot of similar sounds in French (the "r" like you mentioned), and when Jake was learning to pronounce things it was fun to hear the American accent (although the actor is actually Australian...). I actually wondered if you'd seen the film/would be posting about the language... It's really gorgeous to hear and I'm guessing it wouldn't take much time to memorize the approximate 1000 word vocabulary. However, I think I'll continue to focus my efforts on human languages for now... <br><br>Off-topic from Avatar, I wanted to thank you for the tips on memorizing a phonetic script. I've been trying to teach myself Arabic through Rosetta Stone for some time now and the most difficult part has been memorizing the characters and all the forms they take depending on their placement in a word/sentence. I'm guessing that once I can actually read what is written above the images, Rosetta Stone will be much more effective!
