There are a few things that will require tweaking, but we're on it ;) Fixing export is of course high priority!
Other than that the only problem we are still tweaking is with usernames with spaces or other characters. If you see other issues, do let us know.
I like the half-way house option. This could be requested and shared via the forum – I've added a tips & tricks part so that would be a good place to do it!
By the way, since this thread is long and complicated you should know that I've added threads specifically for LWT issues and discussion since it will probably become a long-term part of the site.
Any particular issues, it's best to start a new thread in those forums rather than add to this one, since it will be easier to track them and follow threads you would like. But keep in mind that those threads are for LWT specifically on Fi3M. If you have requests for other features or problems with the offline versions it's best to use the sourceforge LWT forum link.
I just said to Benny I was not sure I will advertise my site but since there are problems here.
There you get the version published by JPierre the author of LWT. I put a demo of version 1.0.0 and 1.3.0 but you can get the 1.4.3 last one so far.

Michel, please don't send me PMs. I specifically said not to do that in my signature.
The "problems" are with tweaking the system to work with a multiple user login, and I'd consider this the beta while we fix these issues before I announce the fully operational one on the blog, hopefully within a week or two.
I really don't see you fixing that on your link. If you are trying the same thing then you will undoubtedly be running into similar or other problems. And you can't get version 1.4.3 on your site – that's just linking back to the original LWT.
You're free to share links to any free resources – as that's the point of the forum and I don't consider it "advertising" if it's for something free – but be clear about what problems you are solving.
Once again, I'd appreciate if people started new threads about specific topics related to LWT in the forums that are now visible from the forum homepage. This thread is starting to get quite cluttered.
Sorry for the PM – I did not read your signature thinking it was not important – sorry.
The reason why I pm is because I did not want to advertize my site but wanted to show the url just to you – so you see my site run without your code.
There are no social features added by me. If users want it is possible to share data with export and import. I could also open shared accounts for more than one user but without privacy to the other member of the sharing.
Just a reminder from the developer of LWT:
I am unable to support older versions or modified versions, like Benny's.
I can only accept bug reports of users who are running the latest version (currently 1.4.3) I have released at http://lwt.sourceforge.net/ .
Write your bug reports in the LWT Help Forum (no registration needed):
The future of LWT:
In the next months there won't be any new features.
Maybe some bug fixes if there is a major problem, but I don't expect that.
LWT 1.4.x is the last release for a longer time period.
If you want to implement new features or improvements, you are welcome to fork the project at GitHub:
Thank you for your understanding and happy language learning!
Version 1.4.4 has been released today.
Changed the handling of backslash removal in posted data on servers with magic_quotes_gpc = Off. Documentation updated.
So the problems with \… input in the language definition should be fixed now. (Only on some servers with magic_quotes_gpc = Off)
