Here are the resources team FI3M has tested and considers essential to learn how to speak Korean.
FAVOURITE COURSES & APPS TO GIVE YOUR KOREAN A BOOST
KoreanClass101 – This is my favourite Korean audio course. This course is much better value than more famous audio courses, and in my opinion it’s more effective too!
90 Day Korean – This web course starts out by teaching you to read Korean, and then keeps building up your speaking skills, in small chunks, for 90 days.
Talk to Me In Korean – TTMIK is a top rated fan favorite for learning Korean. TTMIK is a free website run by native Korean speakers. The site posts regular language lessons in a variety of media formats, and its integration with social media makes it impossible for you to catch up on any videos you may have missed on the site.
KOREAN SPEAKING TOOLS: PRACTICE WITH NATIVE SPEAKERS
Speak from day one is my approach to any new language. I have one tool I recommend for this:
Italki – connects you with native Korean speakers for spoken practice on Skype. You can pay Korean tutors for (affordable) one-to-one video lessons, or find a free language exchange partner! This link takes you right to the Korean tutors on the site.
KOREAN LEARNING WEBSITES YOU MUST BOOKMARK TODAY
You’ll return to these resources again and again in your Korean study sessions.
Forvo – find out how any Korean word is pronounced. Just type the word you’re looking for into the search bar in Korean!
Naver Dictionary – A Korean-English dictionary with audio, sample sentences, and words/phrases of the day.
